If you would like to find out a little more about the individuals within our firm, please see the information below:

Dylan Tomkins

Dylan is the Director having studied Business and Finance at Loughborough before joining the Financial Services sector and has over 20 years of corporate and personal financial finance experience under his belt.

Dylan is passionate about financial wellbeing and has completed the Initiative of Financial Wellbeing accreditation. He is committed to helping people achieve their financial aims; whether a small to medium-sized business or a personal client. To provide a service that will have impact, he takes the time to understand the individual’s current situation and their future financial objectives, firmly believing that this process cannot and should not be rushed. The final solution is then always delivered with honesty, integrity and clarity – in-line with Dylan’s (and AiMS’) values – and in a pragmatic fashion.

Dylan not only understands the trials and tribulations of running a business, but also the demands of family life and how wellbeing plays an important part in this.

He and his wife Jenny are keen on sports of all kinds including CrossFit, cycling, golf, skiing and windsurfing.

Dylan is a veteran and life-long supporter of Ashford Rugby Football Club.

Debbie Bennett

‘I’m very excited that AiMS is evolving and progressing with this fresh approach. Our new image very much reflects the style of the company.’

Debbie has worked in Financial Services for over 20 years and has been with AiMS since 1997. She provides compliance and research support for the Investment and Pension Team, manages the smooth running of the AiMS Financial ‘engine room’, and oversees all compliance matters.

Debbie has a Diploma in Financial Planning and a Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice. Her wealth of knowledge – particularly an extensive experience of historic pension contracts – combined with excellent problem-solving skills, an impeccable attention to detail and the ability to fully research all the available options in order to determine the best solution, ensure that AiMS’ clients receive the best possible service and advice.

Financial Wellbeing to Debbie means a more informed discussion with clients about what it is they want to achieve, and she considers the longevity of the relationship that AiMS has with its clients to be paramount in this.

Debbie’s time in Financial Services has mostly been spent working with David, previously at Nationwide and then Abbey Life. At AiMS, she provides invaluable support, not only to David, whom she has known in both a professional and social capacity for over 30 years, but also to Dylan. She enjoys working for AiMS, where she feels valued as part of a team and can be open and honest with her colleagues. Her family is now grown up, allowing her more time to follow her passions – attending concerts, coastal walking and participating in regular keep-fit classes, particularly spinning!

Helen Pollard

‘I really embrace the AiMS philosophy that our clients are valued as individuals. This is reflected within the company, as staff are treated in the same positive way.’

Helen joined Aims in December 2018 and her role as Office Administrator is to look after clients and the review process, set up pension policies and all associated tasks; she also handles mortgage queries. Helen has been working in customer service roles since 1999 and at AiMS acts as the first port of call for clients – she is the person you are most likely to speak to when arranging an appointment and will also be the first smiley face that will greet you when you walk into the office!

Having started her career in Retail, within a short period Helen had worked her way up through the internal departments, assisting management along the way. She then went into Administration within the educational sector where her work involved managing several key financial tasks. Having always had a head for numbers, she quickly realised this was the career path she wanted to pursue, so, whilst raising a family and moving to Kent, she retrained to gain qualifications in AAT Accounting – passing all her exams first time.

Financial Wellbeing to Helen is a natural step for AiMS because of the way the world is going. She questions whether money alone can bring happiness and understands the value of physical and mental wellbeing. As a working mother of two young boys, Helen tries to carve out some time for her own wellbeing by reading, walking, listening to music. She also loves a good boxset. She is very happy working at AiMS and enjoys the friendly working atmosphere.
